STORY OF THE DAY - BIRTHDAYS

When people asked how old she was,
she would say 1009365, more or less,
because she was so glad to be alive that
she counted every day a birthday.

She had some disagreement from her
knees about the actual figures though.

This one is mine, folks, written for me.

  2. My knees don't disagree with me about my age, just about whether I should make them run round the block or not.

  10. Happy everyday birthday, everyone!

Although the lady in the "story" is a very long lived lady indeed. if she's lived more than a million days--that comes out to about 300 years. (Does that make you feel less old, Mimi?)

At any rate, do you remember Florida's hunkiest priest?

  11. It is my real birthday, the 25th anniversary of my 39th. ;-) Birthdays are not so bad, after all I am still not dead. Lee Hayes of the Weavers wrote this verse:

I think Lee Hayes said it well back in the last Weavers reunion concert.

"I get up each morning and dust of my wits,
get the newspaper and read the obit.
And if I'm not there, I know I'm not dead,
so I eat a good breakfast and roll back to bed."

  13. Happy Real Brithday, Jim!

The woman in the story makes me feel younger than springtime.
