'CALLING THE ARCHBISHOPS' BLUFF'

Don't blame me. Blame Mr C. In my heart, I can't blame him at all. It's way past time for the misogynistic nonsense to be over.

In the event that you don't understand Mr C's every word, the transcript is at his blog and at YouTube.

  1. Hmmm. If parliament was so very interested, why did they not block the exemptions for the church during the passage of the act? Whilst the reference to the act is correct in respect of employment, clergy, including Bishops are not employees under the law. Until they have this status appeals to law such as The Equality Act are may be ethically appealing but useless in fact.

  2. Perhaps the MPs are hearing from their constituents. The lopsided votes in diocesan synods in favor of women bishops may push the members to remove the exemptions to the law. You and Mr C would know better than I. It's your country. ;-)

  3. The exemptions within the Equality Act could not now be removed. They could only be superceded by a new piece of legislation.
