HAPPY ST VALENTINE'S DAY!

What? No hearts and flowers?

Grandpère and I decided to give each other Maine lobster dinners to celebrate St Valentine's Day. Bubba's II Restaurant, which is quite near our house, imports live Maine lobsters every couple of months. Yummy!

  1. Counterlight, the lobsters were delicious. We made the right choice.

The side dishes were corn soup with shrimp, potatoes and corn on the cob boiled with the lobsters, and bread pudding. Who would put catsup on Maine lobsters?

  2. Mimi, Your favorite ¨twin singers¨ are giving a Valentines Dinner tonight...I know what the menu is, not Maine Lobsters (a pang of regret) but BBQ´d Pork sandwhiches of French Bread, salads and and special ¨be my valentine/o¨ dessert...can´t wait...happy Valentines Day, today, each and everyone one of you heart throbs!

  3. Oh Lapin, thank you! In my granddaughter's RC high school, there is a large heart like that painted on the wall...just the heart, not the rest of the picture, with the words 'Ametur Cor Jesu' on a banner painted above the heart. The heart rests on the globe of the earth.

Len, give the twin 'girls' my regards and wish them the sentiments of the day for me.

  8. Two each, Cathy, and the critters were a nice size. The corn soup was very good, too.

  9. I wouldn't put catsup on a lobster but I like a bit of mayo on the side, and string fries.

  10. I dipped my lobster in melted butter, which you can see in the small bowl on the tray. I don't know about mayo...

  11. Looks lovely. We went with seafood too. I made shrimp and crab Newburg, garden fresh peas with onion and parsley, and rice couscous. Not only gluten free, but very, very good! A couple bottles of Muscotto, and a GF flourless chocolate cake with raspberries and sweet vanilla whipped cream.

It all worked. No dinner out, i am changed to my stove by Celiac disease (my love simply cannot eat in a lot of places) but none-the-less.

  12. Jim, I did not know you had celiac disease. A friend has it, and it was a daunting challenge when he was first diagnosed, but he and his wife finally worked out what to buy and what to cook that both could eat and enjoy.

  13. Clearly a stove few of us would object to being tied to, Jim. Sounds wonderful.

  14. Great choice for Valentine's Day. Or IMHO any day.

  15. Mayo is for the fries rather than the lobster. It has to be proper stuff too, freshly made, not that commercial gloopy stuff. That's my thought, anyway.

  16. Well, that's all right, then. I use catsup on mty fries sometimes.
