AILEEN - GOOD NEWS! - PLEASE PRAY FOR LOU ANN

From Sally Boyd --- good news

Begin forwarded message:

From her husband, Mike: (Saturday, April 9,2011, 5 p.m.)
Aileen is no longer taking steps forward, she is absolutely sprinting! The trach tube has been reduced in size and she is now able to speak quietly but with relative ease. Other than some large holes in her memory, she very much seems herself: funny, witty, caring, all the wonderful things that make her who she is. One slight hiccup and now we can't transfer back to Rapid until next Thur or Fri. But that's ok.

Pray that Aileen continues to recover and for strength and courage for Aileen, Mike, and all who love her and care for her.

From Ann Fontaine:

also will you pray for my friend and colleague Lou Ann -- her neck fusion operation is not fusing like it is supposed to - pray for fusion.

Thanks

PLEASE PRAY FOR AILEEN, CATHY, AND CATHY

From Sally Boyd--- prayers continuing. ----

Begin forward message:

This is the latest news from her husband, Mike:

Wednesday, March 16, 2011
8:18 p.m.

AILEEN TALKED!! Sunday her therapists, knowing I have to take the boys back to Rapid, started working early that morning, so that by the time we get there to say our good byes, she spoke!!!!! She said "Hi Mike" "mom" and "boys"! It took SOO much strain and effort and sounded like a 90 year old smoker, but who cares!! Everyone in the room cried, even the therapists! I love this place!

Aileen is amazing. She is working and fighting so hard. Yes, we have a long way to go, but she is just the girl to do it. She is stronger than any ten men! I dare anyone to say different! God, prayers from each and everyone of you, and the will of a mom. Nothing could be stronger! Thank you all!

Oh my! What wonderful news! Thanks be to God and to all who care for Aileen and pray for her. May Aileen's recovery continue until she is restored to full health and strength.

From JCF:
I just spoke w/ Cathy's sister.

They're preparing to bring Cathy home to a room in her (other) sister's place, in hospice care.

As I know from relatively recent experience w/ my mom, being AT HOME is the way To Go.

Please keep Cathy and her family in your prayers...

JCF, at home is the place to go, if possible. May Cathy go gentle, without pain or distress, into the loving arms of Jesus.

From the other Cathy in England:
In the meantime, I haven't got a temperature, but I have got a really weird cold. In addition to all of the usual symptoms it has given me sharp, nagging pain and nasty pressure first in the left ear (yesterday), then in the right (today). Now when I whistle I can hear two separate notes at the same time, one a semitone higher than the other, and everyone on the telly has got two voices, like bad lipsyncing. Prayers please? ...

O Father, heal our friend Cathy from her cold and restore her speedily to full health and strength, in Jesus' name, amen.

UPDATE ON AILEEN

From Mike:
Aileen is "standing" up on the tilt table. Well, okay, she's strapped in but still, her blood pressure didn't drop and that's awesome. We just got this awesome rehab plan written up, and it's so cool that they integrate family into the plan for her. The boys are coming up to visit, GEEZ I cannot wait to see them and for Aileen to see her boys too!!!!

Thanks be to God and to all who help care for Aileen.
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Aileen, and give your power of healing to those who minister to her needs, that she may be strengthened in her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

UPDATE ON AILEEN AND MIKE

From Aileen's husband, Mike:
February 7, 2011

Aileen is still doing well in the same ways, however she had about a 45 minute procedure to put some type of filters to block the blood clots from moving up from her legs to the organs; heart, lungs, brain, ect. She does have quite a few more clots in both legs today so the doc thought it was necessary to get one put in as soon as possible. She did very well during the procedure. I'm proud of her.

February 13, 2011

Just got back from Billings, and touring and meeting the staff at Advanced Care Hospital of Montana. What an incredibly impressive facility and staff.

(From Sally Boyd:
Aileen has been in an uncommunicative state since a series of strokes this past Thanksgiving Day. She is a 37 year old mother of two little boys, and her husband Mike has been a faithful and faith-filled support to her over these many weeks in the hospital in Rapid City, S.D. He is now seeking long-term care for her, but must wait for another round of fever-related-to-infection to be addressed. He appreciates prayers for his beloved wife and for his little family.)

For Aileen:
May God the Father bless you, God the Son heal you, God the Holy Spirit give you strength. May God the holy and undivided Trinity guard your body, save your soul, and bring you safely to his heavenly country; where he lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

O God, give to Mike and all who watch and wait with Aileen strength and courage during this difficult time. Surround them with your presence in the power of your Holy Spirit that they may trust in your everlasting love.

From Ann.

UPDATE ON AILEEN - GOOD NEWS

From Sally Boyd via Ann Fontaine:
Keep reading...it gets better!

From her husband, Mike:
(Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 8:20 p.m.)

How quickly things can change & change again. Yesterday was good, but at about 3:30 a.m. Aileen stopped breathing due to a "mucus plug" that blocked her airway. Thankfully, the nurse was on the ball enough to call a code on her and they were able to suction out her lungs, get it clear, and she was breathing again fairly quickly. She doesnt seem to have suffered any further permanent damage, but it was a horrible call to receive for sure.

(Wednesday, February 2, 2011, 9:00 p.m.)

Aileen has bounced back incredibly well from what we are going to just call a "speed bump". Today when visiting her, as I was leaving to pick up the boys from school I leaned over to kiss her goodbye and she kissed me back. She actually puckered up and kissed me. Amazing feeling! Later I had Kaleb do the same thing, and he screamed so loud the nurses thought something was wrong, but it was Kaleb saying "Mommy kissed me!"

Sally Boyd is the priest who ministers to Aileen and Mike.

UPDATE ON AILEEN

From Sally Boyd

Begin forwarded message:
From her husband, Mike, at 10 p.m., 1/18/11:

One step forward. One step back. Incredibly, Aileen's kidneys suddenly started working 2 days after kidney doc said they were probably done! So much so, that the doc took her off of dialysis today!! However, they had to reopen the incision as the internal bleeding caused some of the infection to move around the incision. She is in much pain and is on a pain medicine drip. Major infection concern, again. Please continue prayers.

Sally Boyd is the priest who ministers to Aileen and Mike.

From Ann.

Please pray for Judy.
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant Judy the help of your power, that her sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Ann, my sister in Christ---Prayer requests continue for Aileen. This young woman is still in a battle, and we know the Lord is with her. This is the latest update from her husband, Mike. My heart goes out to both of them and their two little boys. Christmas blessings to you and those you love---Sally (Aileen and Mike's priest)

"Thanks so very much for all your prayers. The surgery went very well, however there is a problem. The surgeon was disheartened to find that there is a good deal more infection around the pancreas in an area that he had just cleaned out during the surgery on Christmas Eve. Just checked with the nurse this morning, and her white cell count continues to climb. Please, Lord, help this situation with my wife. Please!"---Mike

Sanctify, O Lord, those whom you have called to the study and practice of the arts of healing, and to the prevention of disease and pain. Strengthen them by your life-giving Spirit, that by their ministries the health of Aileen may be promoted and your creation glorified; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

UPDATE ON AILEEN

December 20, 9 p.m.

This is a message from Aileen's cousin, Tammy---

Just talked with Aileen's mom and the doctors put in the trach tube. Aileen responded to her mom by blinking, and she followed her with her eyes. Her blood pressure is stable and her heartbeat as well. She still has a bit of a high temperature. Please keep praying for my sweet, precious cousin Aileen. Thank you all so much for the prayers!!!! We all love her so much and I know she is going to pull
through this.

---Blessings to all, Sally

UPDATE: Prayer request from David@Montreal:

Beloved Giants of prayer & practice
It turns out my cherished cousin Frank is not to see Christmas at home.

They discovered a serious growth on one of his lungs, and he's been hospitalized, with the doctors unable to give any idea how long the treatments will take- especially with holiday scheduling.

They're going to be removing the mass and giving him treatment. The news comes via my Mam who received the call who was quite shaken by this news of her Godson, so she doesn't remember all that Frank shared with her, but she reports that his morale was good- as always- but he specificially asked that I share this news with you, the Giants and ask for your prayers for himself and for Carol.

thank-you

love-always-always Love

David.

From Sally Boyd (The priest who ministers to Aileen and her husband Mike):

UPDATE ON AILEEN

Brothers and sisters in Christ---First, let me thank you all for sending up prayers for Aileen during this long struggle. She has been up and down over the past several days. She has had continued bleeding in the brain, new bleeds in bowels and stomach. Mike wrote that she "crashed" twice on Saturday, but was brought back to us. A former doctor visited her and made suggestions which were agreed on. This was followed by her temperature going below 100 degrees for the first time since Thanksgiving. Praise God! I do not know yet about extended plans. However, a permanent tracheostomy tube was to be put in place today. Following is the Facebook message from her loving husband, Mike. Please continue to lift this young mother to the Lord for healing. Blessings to you all during this precious season of expectant waiting.---Sally Boyd

Aileen had an uneventful night last night and her day has been much the same. Her dialysis went well today. Her vitals and blood chemical numbers are pretty stable and show some good progress. Her color is good and she has at times had her eyes open a good bit. Thank God for good days!!!---Mike

UPDATE ON AILEEN

December 7, 2010: Big meeting with the neurologist team today at 9. Get her MRI results back and am so nervous about it, my stomach is in knots. Keep wondering why they would call a meeting to go over it. They've never done that before. Does it mean bad news, good news or what??---Mike

December 8, 2010: Okay, there has been some speculation as to what's up with the second opinions and so forth and what's going on. Aileen's MRI results came back yesterday and no, the results were not good. The stroke areas are slightly more profuse and the hemorrhage in the back of her brain is still bleeding. RCRH doctors feel that she is right now as good as she will ever get with little or no hope for future gains in her abilities. She is able to communicate through hand squeezing. So we are looking for a second and perhaps a third opinion and will continue to pursue other avenues of treatment for her, including perhaps taking her to Denver to a specialized stroke and brain injury center. A recommendation of this nature has severely shaken my confidence in her doctors and will look at all other options.---Mike

Continued prayers requested for this wonderful young woman, mother, wife.---Sally Boyd

UPDATE ON AILEEN: From Ann:

Quick update: Aileen seems to be having a few more conscious periods going on today, she is still in a coma as that is her basic state right now but she is definately moving in the right direction, testing yesterday shows that her vision and hearing should be intact, her right side is making good progress, but she is losing what she had on her left and tests show that there is nothing happening in the brain in reference to her legs at all. These are fairly limited tests and all they are really able to do until she wakes up more, many many unanswered questions. From her husband, Mike on FB
