Doxy, I had already checked you out. I'm having loads of fun checking out my family and friends. This is for folks who have nothing to do. You're convicted!
43 and this does not count me :-) I know there are one or two others here in Australia and one poor man who was a geography teacher in the State system like me and much the same age. Even though he rose to be Principal he had to ring me and ask my teaching number because they tried to tell him he was a casual teacher (me). The school receptionist was most amused to ring the library and say "Brian Ralph, Brian Ralph is on the phone".
If I use my married name there are one or fewer with my name (and considering I am Canadian it could well be fewer than one). If I use my maiden name there is one person who shares it. The former did not surprise me but the latter did. My maiden name is not that rare and neither is my first name.
1,209 of me Grandmere. Margaret is the 26th most popular name --I'm surprised, because I am the only one I know or can think of in my generation.... plenty in my parents and their parents.
That was great Grandmere. I'm gonna go check my maiden name now (Hambly).
According to this, I am unique under my real name, however Google tells me there is actually another one. But she married into the name, so it's not quite the same thing.
And because I couldn't leave well enough alone, there's only one Trig Palin, only one Barack Obama, but FOUR Sarah Palins. Man, I bet the other three are pissed.
That is so much fun, Mimi! I am one of 50. My children are each uniquely named. They are very pleased with themselves this afternoon!

ReplyDeleteOh well -- I am one of 5,144 and I suspect this is an undercount. I have been duplicated in each school, camp and job I ever held.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand. if I use my husband's last name I become unique, as is he.
ReplyDeleteIf I search with my maiden name, I am unique in the US, or so they say.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this was fun! I found out that I am the ONLY Rhonda Renee in the U.S. (I feel so alone.)
ReplyDelete43 and this does not count me :-)

ReplyDeleteLove and Prayers,
Ann Marie Nicklin (nee Ash)
Rhonda, we love you anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou furriners don't make the count cut, do ya?
Brian Ralph calling Brian Ralph. Too funny. I thought that Ralph was your middle name, rather than your family name.
Anne Marie, I would not have thought that Ash was rare either, however I'm not surprised about Nicklin. I have never heard it before.
Nous sommes deux.
ReplyDeleteI think it said there were 336 with my last name in the US which makes us just a little more than one in a million. How special.
Rhonda Renée, you are truly special. How wonderful!
Paul, I always knew you were special.
ReplyDeletePeople with my maiden name number in the three hundreds, too.
1,209 of me Grandmere. Margaret is the 26th most popular name --I'm surprised, because I am the only one I know or can think of in my generation.... plenty in my parents and their parents.

(only 6 of me!)
ReplyDeleteMargaret, you're pretty special, too but not as special as Rhonda and me with my maiden name.
ReplyDeleteThere's 42 of me...
ReplyDelete1 of 869...

ReplyDeleteIT
253.
ReplyDeleteOf course there are only 50 other Doxys. Wormwood is not that common of a first name. ;)
And because I couldn't leave well enough alone, there's only one Trig Palin, only one Barack Obama, but FOUR Sarah Palins. Man, I bet the other three are pissed.
ReplyDeleteWormwood is not that common of a first name.
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason for that... ;-)
(Of course there is also a reason why there is only one "Trig." Poor child--I always think of Roy Rogers and Trigger when I hear his name...)
