From Patrick Kiarie Nyorogo on Facebook:
Am so sad....i received bad news, regarding my dad Goran, the nature have taken its course and he died......cancer is a killable disease! Oh my God,am shaking!Damn cancer!
Farewell, sweet friend. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
May Göran rest in peace and rise in glory.
May God give comfort, consolation, and the peace that passes understanding to Patrick and to all who love Göran, including me.
I'll write more later about our friend, but what I've written here is all I can manage for now.
Mimi, that is so very sad. He was such a kind presence on all of our blogs.
ReplyDeleteThe tears begin, even at work. Thank you, Mimi, I'm glad I heard it from you. Prayers for our dear friend, for Patrick, for all who love him. And a hug for you.
ReplyDeleteEternal rest grant to him Oh Lord, let the choir of angels sing for him, the saints and martyrs welcome, the hosts of heaven protect him and the Comforter come to all of us who mourn the loss of him. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Thank you for this post, Mimi. I am so glad I was able to meet Göran once when we all met at lunch in Leeds 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI always remember how he said he had changed and opened up because of the friendships he made on the blogs and that they had changed his life.
He certainly touched mine very deeply and I shall miss him very much. We were supposed to spend a holiday with him last May and had to cancel due to the girls' exams. How I wish we'd gone anyway!
God bless him.
ReplyDeleteI will miss his wonderful voice.
May God be with his beautiful son in his grief.
Not unexpected, but so very sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteI trust that Kirstin has found and welcomed Göran. As I wrote over on FB, there is another star in heaven. Prayers for all whose lives were touched by his.
ReplyDeleteA man whose heart was even bigger than his massive brain. [On Thinking Anglicans, no one could TOUCH him. He was The Master!]
ReplyDeleteRest in peace, until you rise in glory, Goran...
[We who remain here will miss you so. We have HOPE, yet still we grieve. :-(..]
Kirstin and Göran have met, I'm sure. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, a gentle man, but he was the best at responding to nonsensical commentary on faith and the Bible.
ReplyDeleteThat and, casting my mind back to some of his TA posts, his seemingly being third cousin, twice removed to half the Almanach de Gotha, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteAnother loss to our internet family. His scholarship was so impressive-- such a gentle soul.
ReplyDeleteWe will miss him.
Our Göran was noble by birth and by manner.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, I can only ditto all the above comments.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to learn of Göran's passing. Damnable cancer! I rejoice that he is within the peace of our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer.
ReplyDeleteSo very sad to hear of his death. My prayers are with his family and all his friends.
ReplyDeleteHe touched people's hearts (and minds). Occasionally he would comment on my blog and FB posts. R.I.P. Friend Göran.
ReplyDeleteHe will be sorely missed. Oh Mimi, I recall you telling me about him when we were talking one day, about that day he came to England to meet you.
ReplyDeletePeace and rest for him, consolation and hope for Patrick and for all who loved him.
May his memory always be a blessing.
I am saddened with the news of Goran's death. May his son and all his friends be comforted by the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Goran, his family and friends. We will miss his voice on the blogs. Peace to all who are experiencing the loss of this dear person.
ReplyDeleteGive to Goran eternal rest and may light perpetual shine upon him. Peace to all his friends and family. I enjoyed reading his comments.
ReplyDeleteYes, light perpetually shining will be his.
ReplyDeleteNothing new to add - only my own sadness.
ReplyDeleteGoran, was the best dad i had....his space to my life is still vaccum, may God rest his soul in enternal peace.
DeleteToday I had a deep thoughts of my dear dad Goran, keep me in prayers. Patrick.
ReplyDeletePatrick, I will. Goran was a fine man.
