R. I. P. JAY'CORY JONES

Rochester, Minnesota – A 17-year-old openly gay teen succumbed to overwhelming bullying, taking his own life this past Sunday. Jay’Cory Jones jumped to his death into traffic from a pedestrian bridge near Century High School, according to police reports. According to his father, Jones was beaten down by the incessant school bullying he endured for being open and vocal about his sexual orientation. His father, JayBocka Strader, told the  PostBulletin....

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Rest eternal grant to Jay'Cory, O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon him. Amen.

O Lord, give comfort, consolation, and the peace that passes understanding to all who love Jay'Cory.  Amen.

  1. When are these fanatical right wing people going to realize that bullying does NOT gain them converts only more who oppose their way of thinking? This is wrong for those poor gay teens that don't fit in, (and make the FRWP so uncomfortable because of their fear.) but it is also wrong for the unusual teen - heck it's wrong for anyone to be treated like this!

  2. Dear Grandmere and Ciss,

Somewhere we, as Americans and others, got the popularity contest standards all wrong...the whole mess of our disdain for the ¨less than¨ ought be whipped out of minds in favor of our conscience desire to respect, even love oneanother...this is no idle talk about cultural defects...it´s the truth is the core corruption of our ¨social character¨ is BAD, polluted in fact...the message regarding our compassion for one another must be stressed at every level of our everyday lives...our politics reek of ¨better than you¨ stink (especially from the greedsters, exploiters and thieves on the Right, includes religious self-righteousness too). We live in cultures where ¨accepted bullying¨ allows ignoramouses to continue being irresponsible to those around them...all THOSE around them. Reality is difficult but must be faced honestly...selfhonestly.

  3. The stories of the suicides of young people, young lives cut off short because of cruel bullying, make me so incredibly sad that I have no words.
