MORE INTO IT

True. Sorry, fans of the Super Bowl. Still, I hope the local businesses in New Orleans make lots of money from the visitors.

From someecards.

  1. Mimi, I remember you expressing these feelings before. And then the Saints won the Super Bowl, and for one time... perhaps the only time... you, too, caught the excitement of the Super Bowl. And that one was truly a special one to watch, especially with Drew Brees holding his son as the confetti fell all over the field. This one, meh... The homophobic antics this week of some 49ers, and my general dislike of the Ravens, leaves me a little less enthused.

    1. SCG, when the Saints are winning and have a chance to play in the Super Bowl, I start to pay attention. When they are eliminated, I lose interest. The year the Saints won, only 4 years after Katrina and the federal flood, was glorious, a very special moment.

Since I don't regularly follow football, the Super Bowl doesn't matter to me, unless the Saints play. Tom gets very emotional about all the Saints and LSU games.

    1. Nij, I just realized that a better title to the post would have been "Less Into It".

  3. Now Mimi, I dutifully said "Who Dat?" for your Saints just a few Super Bowls ago.

It'd be nice if you could return the favor for my Niners.*

[* Yes, the homophobic shennanigans of the past week has been One Great Big Clusterf*ck. I think the media has a bunch to answer for here, but the Niners front-office IS in the right (LGBT-affirming) place, and I don't doubt ALL the player-offenders will have their heads entirely reconfigured in the off-season . . . or else they'll be GONE. Ironically, if this HAD to happen, better that it happen to the Niners than any other team. They belong to THE city to hold them accountable!]

    GO NINERS!!!!
