Jena Not Unique In US

Allison Hantschel, who writes for the Daily Southtown in Chicago, has a fine column which gives an overview of the Jena 6 story, along with reminders that racism is not confined to the South in this country.

She writes as Athenae at First Draft. I met Allison and her husband in New Orleans when we worked together gutting a house that was flooded when the levees broke after Katrina.
