Compline
COLLECTING
At the turning of the year
At the wheeling of the stars
At the ending of the day
We pause in silence
[silence]
In the quiet time
In the fallow time
In the resting time
We rest in silence
[silence]
For the dark hour
For the still hour
For the changing hour
We seek silence
[silence]
Candles and lamps may now be lit

Buddhapalian is a friend I met through you--because of that ridiculous reading-level quiz.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting it.
Kirstin, BB has one of the most beautiful blogs that I have encountered. It's so rich, that it's sometimes too much for me to take in.
ReplyDeleteThanks Grandmere. that was beautiful.

Ladies, you are very kind and gracious. To the extent that I can bring beauty or joy or consolation or a good bout of silliness into your lives, I rejoice. I love taking photos, I love writing prayers, and political rants help me vent. In turn, I am enriched by you two and the many others who put themselves out there day after day, sharing struggles, sharing grace. We all feast at one table. So glad I have been blessed to sit next to y'all in the process.
ReplyDeleteMwah. (loud kiss from the BB)
Oh, Grandmère, I forgot to say what a beautiful sunset photo that is. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMmm... pass the pears, please. :-)
ReplyDeleteMwah! back at you.
Paul, even Rowan the dog likes what you wrote. Your appeal is widespread.
ReplyDeleteWe get to see beautiful sunsets in this flat land of ours.
Mwahs to all.
And I am a fan of Rowan's writings and prayers!
ReplyDeleteI like! Very contemplative.I could use that in church and no one notice it wasn't strictly Christian. In fact I will.

DP, a lot of stuff goes on in Christian churches that is not strictly Christian - nor even loosely Christian, for that matter, and nobody notices.
