What Kind Of Brain Have I?

You Are 45% Left Brained, 55% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.

Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.

If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.

Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.

Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.

If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.

Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

I do not prefer sports. There are probably few folks around who are less interested in sports.

I found the link for this at Paul's place.

  1. "Maybe, maybe not" on the sports, my dear Mimi; I learned to fake it early in childhood because of my location, where they wouldn't see the point to high school if they hadn't had a football team.

Why couldn't we both have been born and raised in NOLA, heh?

  2. Johnieb, I faked it in high school, too, because I wanted to be with the crowd, and the crowd was at the football games. I had a mad crush on one of the cheerleaders at Jesuit High School, and I like watching him cheer. He would not even look at me then, but, oddly enough, I dated him for a while in college, but there was no magic. The spark was gone. The timing was off.

  3. I'm 60/40 L/R. Makes sense, I totally prefer dogs, reading and quiet. Then there's that logic and math thing, me being a scientist and all.

  4. I am 20% Left and 80% Right. And I usually leave the room when my husband watches sports. I consider one of my crosses is having to watch my children playing sports although as their mother it is my honour to cheer them on. They owe me so big time it isn't funny. At least they are not into hockey or figure skating so I can stay relatively warm.

  5. Didn't you find that there are too many questions to which one's answer would be "neither" or "both"? Algebra/geometry - neither; words/pictures - neither; hard things/easy things - neither, if I can help it; which statement reflects your beliefs - both. Could go on further, but I won't. End result, after making five or six inaccurate but necessary choices, 25/75.

  6. IT..I'm another PhD academic, but a social scientist..with strong math genes.

    55/45 L/R

Cats not dogs, however..and a runner (individual sport).

Talk about choosing your data to support your theory??..

  7. IT, I loved my class in logic, and I was OK in arithmetic. Algebra and trigonometry were the bane of my existence, but I loved geometry.

Ann Marie, my daughter played summer baseball when she was young, and I watched those games, but my boys played disorganized sports, which I was not required to watch. If I'd had to watch one of my children play a rough sport, like football or hockey, that would have been tough on me. Your children do owe you. Remind them often.

I was not too far from a split, and I guess that's OK. IT, yours seems about right. Ann Marie and Lapin, you are both far over to the right brain side.

Lapin, yes, with some of the questions I would have wanted to say both or neither or somewhere in the middle. I look at the tests as fun time-wasters. At least this one had more than 5 or 6 questions.

  8. JerseyJo, we cross-posted. I used to run, but now I walk. I hated running while I did it, but I love walking. I see that you have my same numbers, but on opposite sides.

  9. GM" I'm the same as you. The description fits well, although we currently have no dog...
Say - you're not as bad as Maddies says you are!

  10. Fr Craig, welcome. So. We are alike. I do have a dog, but I would like to have a cat, too, however, my dog hates cats - I'm talking real hate. I'll have to wait for my cat until Diana goes to be with St. Laika in that happy land for doggies, once they pass on.

Say - you're not as bad as Maddies says you are!

Fr Craig, I know I'm bad, but I hope that I'm not that bad.

  12. I'm 80% LEFT brained and now I have a headache.

  13. DP, I'm sorry about your headache. That seems somewhat unbalanced. Is your head leaning to the left? But you're such a looker, what does it matter anyway? Except for the headache, of course.

  14. I took the test -- at least I still have a brain!

I love sports, I wanted to be a professional football player when young - that was not in the plan LOL - mostly I like baseball to watch and women's college Basketball (go Lady Vols).

  15. Ann, my heart goes out to you and the others with the severely lopsided brains. You must expend great effort just trying to keep your heads straight.

So you wanted to be a football player! Gee. I found the basketball games in gym class too aggressive for me.

  16. I scored 85/15... or maybe just the opposite,I can't remember. The brain is so complicated it's a wonder any of us can think at all.

  17. Rowan, what a tease you are. Yours is 85% right brain. I just know it is.

  18. Commenting to this post because all the more recent ones are too serious, and this is just silly.

But I'm playing this computer game these days. It's cartooney and cute and fun. One of the things you do in it is fish, and there are several types of bait you use to fish with.

One of them is called a mimi, and I think of you every time I go fishing. :)
