Recycled Thought For The Day

Faith is not certainty so much as it is acting-as-if, in great hope.

Fran at FranIAm posted the picture of the license plate which can be purchased in South Carolina. She seemed a little annoyed by it, bless her heart. I stole the picture from her blog and put it to use. Will "I Don't Believe" plates be next?

Anyway, you see my statement of faith above, which may be a little long for a license plate.

  1. There seems to be agreement in the state that this one is unlikely to pass the inevitable constitutional challenge. I gather that it's mainly the child ("bastard", not "brain") of a bunch of up-state Christian rightists - ties to Bob Jones "U" and all that. We already have a "In God We Trust" license plate, but seems we need a whole army of "faith" plates.

Can an "In event of The Rapture, driver will disappear" plate be far behind?

    Roll on The Rapture!

    I'm with Fran, though.

  3. Diane, I'm with Fran, too. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  4. This is one of those times I wish I were a Wiccan or a Druid or something so I could holler for MY license plate!

  5. OT....I see that the MadOne is going to GAFcon. Will there be an OCIMBAG where we might gather while he has left us bereft?

  6. Will there be a plate for X-Files fans? "I Want to Believe."

    If not, I'm gonna sue!

  7. Had to rush over here from Fran's to see what you are up to! It's a ridiculous license plate; to be fair there should be one for each belief system.

My license plate says "Read to Succeed" but I don't know if anyone is "converted" to read!

  8. Kirk, you could pretend to be a Wiccan - if you lived in South Carolina. Maybe we could get behind Lapin to sue for a Rapture plate.

Rmj, are you ready to take up the practice of law again? We may need you.

Jan, I never do bumper stickers, but I have one now. "BRING THEM HOME!"

  9. Susan, I don't know how long MadPriest will be gone. For the addicted among us, he should give warning. Going off cold turkey is tough. I don't know. We could ask Dennis.

  10. MP has gone on vacation again, it seems. OCICBW.

Should we crank up the generator at the vacation blog again? Paul asked me if we were in business again and all I could say was, "I don't know. Let's ask Mimi."

  11. I just saw your comments at the bottom of this! Too funny!

Let's do it. If you will give it some attention (redirect your readers who are OCICBW regulars to the vacation site we can let loose with a few posts a day.

And this time, Mimi, wouldn't you like to join the posters?

  12. OK, OK, Dennis. I'll try to come up with something, or you'll never let me forget it. You're still flogging me for not joining in last time.

  16. Let's do it. The Mad One would be pleased that the children can cause trouble when he's out of town.
