ReplyDeleteTraditionally all three blessings are recited the first night and only the first two on subsequent nights.
I called my friend in California last night (I've shared many of your posts with her) to tell her what you were doing and she was very pleased. I celebrated so many Hanukkahs with her family over the course of our thirty-three year friendship that her father one year gave me the honor of using the shamash to light one of the candles.
Mr. Bronstein passed away two years ago and this season brings such sweet memories of a dear man who accepted me into his fold and always made me feel like part of the family, especially when he proclaimed I was the only one allowed to carve the "toikey".
