  3. Yeah, this looks all too familiar - any time someone says,"Wouldn't it be cute if you did that for the whole congregation," you know exactly what's going to happen.

  4. Isn't there a old adage that you should act with children and animals if you don't want to be upstaged? That was wonderful. I got a great laugh from that. Poor Tennesee Ernie, he had a hard time keeping it together.

  5. Love this! We have a young boy at church who can't help but get up in the aisles and dance whenever the Widor Toccata is played during the postlude. It's wonderful!

  6. Ah, yes, it's a lovely moment. And I so enjoyed watching and listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford in the olden days.

  7. It just ain't natural to sit quietly and respond in no way to some styles of music.

  8. Hi KJ (aka Frodo). You may not be multidimensional, but I like you anyway, and you are right. With some music, it's just not possible to sit still.

Many well-known actors hated sharing scenes with children and animals, for they are inveterate scene-stealers.

  9. How appropriate the title of the song. I'm sure Ernie was wishing he could tell that child where he would send him! I love Ernie Ford.

  10. Got this as an email link from a friend who used to be in The Biz. He says the child rocking out next to Ernie Ford is his (Ford's) son. Don't know if my friend is right or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Priceless! And I sure miss that voice that was called to Choir Celestial too, too soon.

  11. What?! He said "go" and the kid went!

    Gone, Baby . . . solid gone.

  12. Susan, I think Ernie loved it.

Pat, if it's true that the boy is his son, that would add spice to the scene.

Mark, Ernie said, "Go!" and the boy next to him went rockin', and another boy just up and left. They did what he told 'em.
