Life's Two Questions

Life really boils down to 2 questions...

1. Should I get a dog....?

OR...

2. Should I have children?

Just to let you know I'm thinking of you today.

No matter what situations life throws at you....

No matter how long and treacherous your journey may seem..

Remember ~~ there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

You're laughing aren't you?

That's good ~~ my job here is done!

Have a great day !!!

Thanks to Susan (Erika's beloved) for thinking of me and giving me a good laugh, which I hope my readers share.

Why would any sensible human get a dog? Can a dog purr, entertain with catnip, or use a sandbox?

  2. Isabelle is just as highly incensed at that last photo as the first time I showed it to her. She finds it offensive to the species.

  3. Dogs are the best - despite the, er mess that they can cause! :-)

  4. I've had dogs, and I've had cats, and I like both.

I like the loyalty of dogs, but I also admire the independence of cats. Cats are definitely easier pets to care for than dogs.

Jim, Diana does something that feels and sounds very like purring, when she's petted.

Amelia, so now I must take care to be PC for the sake of our canine and feline friends? Oh, my. I never knew.

Ciss, I can't get going today, and Grandpère doesn't help when he calls his cell phone a POS because the battery is dead because he never charges it.

Robert, thanks, love, and thanks to Susan.

  5. Izzie is just sensitive to the idea of being considered a dumb blonde and she looks so much like that dog. Actually she just sulks for a minute or so, then her tail starts to wag again. Her memory is only long on where she's hidden her dog treats and where we've been before in the car. Don't go PC on her account.

  6. I live with a parrot. We would love a dog but we are away at work too much right now to give one the attention it needs.

The parrot isn't really ours, theoretically it is Stepdaughter's, but she's outgrown it for now in the flush of young adult independence. (She'll have time to grow back in, the parrot will live for 40+ years and is only 6.)

It can be a rather ill-tempered creature in some ways, but it's also quite intelligent, and relatively easy to care for. Its feathers are very warm and soft and it likes to sit on our shoulders when we walk around our neighborhood. This species doesn't really talk but likes to imitate all sorts of noises.

WE're trying to teach it to cluck like a chicken.

So far the parrot is too smart to do that. But I think it's amused when we cluck at it.

  7. Our dogs don't purr when you pet them but one of them gives contented little moans. She is so funny. She has all kinds of vocalizations.

  8. Amelia, that's a bit of a relief, but I'll still worry.

IT, I'd call having a parrot a long-term commitment, a case in which the pet might well outlive it's human.

Two Auntees, I've never experienced anything quite like what Diana does in a dog before. It seems to be a fairly new thing, since I don't remember her always having done it.

I wanted a parrot once but was told that they need at least as much attention as dogs, as they are easily bored. We couldn't cope with the thought of 2 parrots.
Could I have had just one?

Having said that - looking back over the last 30 years God knows where the poor thing would have ended up. Just as well we stuck to a dachsie.

  11. My niece has a parrot named Ruby, because of her red tail, and she is hilarious. She talks, and bobs, and weaves, and rocks to music.

  12. A cat, a dog and a child - in that order.

And you know what I say about the light at the end of the tunnel? Yes, I say 'It's generally the train that's about to knock you down' In this instance, for the dog's sake, I hope it's only someone with a torch. The alternative is so much more painful - ouch!

  13. Petty, in actual life, I had the dog first, and then the cat, and then the children.

And about the light at the end of the tunnel, it could go either way.

For some strange reason, I believe that the last photo is shopped.
