My son asked me to call for prayers for a 44 year old man with whom he once worked who committed suicide today. Three children are now without their father. He was separated from his wife and had declared bankruptcy. It was all too much for him.
Please pray for him and his family.

ReplyDeleteSo much suffering, so much need
the longer I live the deeper my sense of what a gift and honour it is to uphold each other in prayer- living the reality of being members of the Living Body of Christ.

Thanks all for the prayers. They are deeply appreciated. I'll let my son know that folks from all over the world are praying.

ReplyDeletePrayers for peace and healing.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time I thought seriously of suicide but was saved by my liberal slant. I didn't own a gun and wouldn't buy one. I didn't know how to get drugs that would kill me. I didn't want to hurt or cause guilt in anyone by jumping off something or in front of a car. I didn't have a car and wouldn't risk harm to others in my building by using a gas oven. And somehow cutting my wrists didn't appeal or occur to me.
And now it's over 30 years later and I am reasonably happy. Who wudda thot. Not everyone is so lucky.
