ReplyDeleteForgive me, but this reminds me of the Fox fed reactions to health care reform. It's based entirely on an overactive and ill-informed imagination. There are plenty of reasons to mistrust Lambeth, but "Unity, Faith and Order" is a worthy name for the ecumenical arm of the ACO, and Alyson is a worthy person to hold the post. I have a half finished post on this at my blog, but I'm going to bed and I'll have to finish it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAllen - the name UFO is just so unfortunate - and it sounds ominous even though I know Alysson is a worthy person - they have given her a millstone title.
ReplyDeleteAllen, nothing to forgive, love. This is not about Alyson. From all I've heard, she is a worthy person. What Adrian wrote is a humorous fantasy inspired by the title of the new office and the ABC's known desire for a more centralized structure for the AC.

Besides the UFO acronym, as I said before, the name reminds me of a cross between the two titles of the office of the Inquisition of the RCC. It is an unfortunate choice.
