We once drove a family from our neighborhood. The oldest boy was older than my children and a bully, to boot. I had to stand at the school bus stop in the mornings so than my children's day wouldn't begin with harassment. I finally had to ban the child from my yard. No, I generally didn't get into the quarrels of my children with other children, but this boy was beyond the pale.
His mother got into a physical fight with a neighbor farther down the street. What does that tell you? The family moved to the next town over and spread the word that we had driven them out of the 'hood. I said, "Good riddance!" We got a good family as neighbors after that.
Yeah..some resonance in that one for me.
ReplyDeleteThe hard part is not being able to get far enough away! :o)

ReplyDeleteRight, Eileen! Before that experience, I never knew that I had such power.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's tragic.
