It's A Jungle In Here

The hibiscus are overgrown and out of control.

The potted plant became a vine that attached itself to brick and grows and grows and grows.

I fear that one night while we are asleep, the vine may invade our house and strangle us in our bed.

The bees took over the hummingbird feeder. But we need the bees, too.

Did I say that it was a jungle in here?

  1. Ah for a bit of jungle weather. The grass is still green and some of the trees still have cover, but only the mums are blooming and they don't have long.

  2. I confess that I love all the green, even if it is out of hand.

On the fence shown in the picture of the feeder, three different vines grow. We wonder if the fence holds up the vines or if the vines hold up the old fence.

  3. Well it's not Kudzu, ..that may strangle you in your bed, as well as cover the whole neighborhood choking it to death!!

  5. David, it's not kudzu. I don't know the name of the plant that grows well in a pot and spreads all over. Maybe one of my readers can tell me what it is. We never thought it would attach to the bricks!

One of the vines on the fence is Confederate Jasmine. When the flowers bloom, the smell is sweet, but almost overpowering. Another vine on the fence blooms with red flowers.
