He has been married a relatively short time. We do not know when he had his affair(s) with staff. So that judgement is a bit early. In our day, single people even if living with someone have somewhat less constraints in the society.
The other problem of course is the obvious charge of sexual harassment from the women on his staff. Sex with a subordinate is not illegal as the defenders of Mr. Clinton so often reminded us. It does however carry potential risks for suites and even criminal charges if it is thought to be coerced.

Jim, if all of the affairs took place before the birth of Letterman's son, I'd cut him slack. Perhaps I'd have done better to word my original comment that way. After that, no. After all, he's been with the child's mother for 23 years - married or not, faithful or not.
But he should have had more sense than to have affairs with staff members. Apparently, there was more than one, according to his own admission.
Love the bikini cats! They must be high on catnip. That cat worrying about a spy looks like he/she can take care of the problem. The dog looks far too complacent and pleased, but then that's a dog.
Seems Letterman's been giving 100% at work.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I not surprised? Here's the link.
ReplyDelete"This whole thing has been quite scary," Letterman said on his program.
Well, he IS married, and he could have kept his pecker in his pants, and perhaps he wouldn't be in this scary situation.
Mimi,

ReplyDeleteI love teh kittehs in teh bikinis, too.
ReplyDeleteJim, I'm not saying that I believe Letterman deserved to be blackmailed.
ReplyDeleteMy coworkers and I enjoyed the 5% on Fridays bit.
ReplyDeleteOther than the sex, is Letterman ever funny? Whenever it has been shown here, it isn't, and that it often isn't, suggests why it isn't.

ReplyDeletePaul, no doubt proving the truth of the statement.
Adrian, if I thought Letterman was funny, I'd probably have been kinder to him.
