  2. I saw it on TV last night. My favorite line (on the arrival of F's fiancée):
F: Will you help me with the bags?
Igor: Sure, you take the blonde, and I'll take the one with the turban.

  4.      I watched it last night again with my daughters. One of my favorite films of all time! My favorite part is how the horses go nuts every time they say "Frau Blucher". It doesn't mean "glue" in German as some have said, it's just an ordinary German surname. I think Mel Brooks was just being funny.

  5. It's one of the great comic films. I watch it whenever it appears on TV. It has great lines. I especially like "Puttin on the Ritz."

  7. Mel Brooks, a great genius.
His movies helped me to survive high school. I remember when this came out. My high school friends and I were reciting lines from this movie for weeks. We drove everyone around us crazy. Never underestimate the saving power of really good schtick.

"Frau Blucher!" (distant frightened horse neighs)

Incidentally, Michael J. Fox made his first movie appearance in this film.

It was Mel Brooks, of all people, who discovered David Lynch and gave him his first big break into Hollywood. Brooks is a big fan of Lynch's movies starting with "Eraserhead."
