A dancing marcher
Grandpère, No. 2 son, and daughter-in-law
See how they love one another.
A Catahoula hound parade watcher, all dressed up for Mardi Gras. Some folks call the Catahoula hound the ugliest dog in the world, but I ask you, "Is this an ugly dog?" She has one brown eye and one light blue, almost white, eye.
And we all passed a good time.
My form of address for dogs and cats who look spirited but perhaps not conventionally beautiful is "Scrappy." As in, "Hello, Scrappy dog! Hello, hello, hello there. Who's a Scrappy dog?" And they always humor me.
ReplyDeletemy secret code word is "messes"
Mary, I have seen Catahoula hounds that were ugly, but I know their humans loved them anyway, but I think that this hound is nice-looking. I admit that the very light-colored eye is a little spooky.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rick.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos all around. But especially the one of you!
ReplyDeleteGood pics - but especially the one of you and Grandpère!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous event.
ReplyDelete"Are we there yet?" I often wonder that.
You should know that I dislike all of my pictures, which could possibly indicate that I believe that I'm far better looking than I really am.
ReplyDeleteYes, DP, it's our wee fabulous event in Thibodaux.
Sorry. I did not mean to ignore the gracious comments on my photo. Thank you all.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing people have a good time. Wonderful photos. Nice to see you and GP laughing so delightedly.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a sweet hound.
Paul, I can't remember what was so funny.
ReplyDeleteShe was a sweet hound. I don't know her name, so she must be "she".
Our Canine Friend simply looks less-than-thrilled w/ the swag around the neck ("Why must Pack Leader put this silly stuff on me? And where are my treats?")
ReplyDeleteI see you're sporting two strings of beads, Mimi. Did you show Them off one at a time? *LOL*
Has Grandpere said something like "You can pry this hat off my cold..."! ;-)
Mimi, very nice pics of you & your family. I think everyone hates their own pics, don't they? I usually look drunk and red-faced like Prince Harry in mine. Anyway, you look good in yours.
ReplyDeletePS Except for my passport photo, where I look like I've just broken out of jail. But I suppose everyone's passport photo looks like that.
ReplyDeleteThe dog is really lovely and certainly not ugly at all. I'm sure there are much uglier dogs than that.
JCF, I believe that sometimes dogs don't mind playing dress-up. Our former dog, Rusty the Wonder Dog, (May God rest his soul!) oftentimes sat up straight and rode proudly on the front seat of my son's car wearing sunglasses and a short-brimmed straw hat. At any time, Rusty could have knocked off the hat or the sunglasses, but he never did. People did double-takes when they passed, which is probably not a good thing to encourage on the road. I wish we had a photo.
ReplyDeleteCathy, of course, I had to look up my passport photo. It's actually not bad, but the picture was taken against a white background, which is great for most folks, unless, as in my case, one has white hair. You can't even see my hair in the picture. My hair blends perfectly into the background - a strange effect, indeed.
ReplyDeleteJCF - that's my main thought every day: "Where are my treats?"
ReplyDeleteMimi, you sound like you look quite sane in your passport pic, so that puts you well ahead of me.
Rusty sounds lovely.
