Faith is now quite uncertain. I'm no longer acting-as-if.

STORY OF THE DAY - BOX FOR THE FUTURE
this is a dress-up box for the future & it's filled with stuff like courage & love & play because they're the only things that are any use at all when you get Right down to it.
When I was a kid I had a dress-up box -- it was filled with stuff that would have delighted a drag queen and certainly delighted me. The "stuff" came from my elementary school annual fair. By great good luck that school prepared me for being a whole person. The books I bought there exposed me to all sort of "weird people" such as socialists -- this was in the '50s. And oddly, we then ran protests against the cafeteria food and dress codes in our junior high school. And then in senior high we picketed Woolworths and shut down our local store.
Thank God for the dress up box at the Roosevelt School Fair.
Did you see the Philip Pullman item at the Cafe? 3 virtues?

Ann, I read the post at The Lead. I wouldn't mind starting with the three virtues here in the US.
ReplyDeleteSusankay, what an interesting adolescence you had. Gee, our little rebellions were mild and dull compared to yours.
