  1. Eating chocolate for breakfast is good practice in Lent. You get your sinning over and done with early in the day.

  2. Erika, it only gets my sinning started. My tastebuds want more and I can't stop. Can you tell portion control is my biggest food problem? ;-)

  3. The Girl Scout cookies arrived a few days ago. Last night, with my milk, I took only two - and then two more - and then one more - which equals 5. But the cookies were small....

  5. I wish you were here, Mimi. My EFM group brought two boxes of Girl Scout cookies for dinner last night and left them here. I gave up sweets for Lent, but I confess...I must be one of the only people on the planet who doesn't like Girl Scout cookies. So here they are---of no benefit to me in living out my Lenten discipline and going to waste in the bargain! ;-)

    Cheers,

  6. BTW, the great-great-great grandmother for whom my daughter is named always ate dessert first. She said she might not have room for it if she ate the other stuff beforehand.

I have taken her approach to dinner and moved it to breakfast as well. I think chocolate (and Diet Coke) make a mighty fine first meal of the day.

Which means I am already jonesing for Lent to be over...

  7. Doxy, I sometimes eat dessert first, and it drives Tom craazzy. He's afraid that I'll skip my meal. So what if I do. I can feed off my extra fat for a good while.

  8. He's afraid that I'll skip my meal.

I suspect what he's really afraid of is that you will get the best part of the dessert... ;-)

  9. It's more practical to eat dessert first, when your tastebuds are fresh.

  10. Doxy, Tom's not as much of a dessert person as I am, so I usually get the best part anyway.

    Cathy, my thought, exactly.
