Feeding the soul is not just for Lent. The highlight of this post-Easter break has been a visit with an old friend and Stephanie to the 606, one of my loved and inceasingly loved sources of soul food.

This is not ego food, but soul food — graceful, passionate stuff.

BISHOP ALAN - THE COOLEST BISHOP IN ALL ENGLAND?
Possibly. Read his commentary on his night out at 606 titled Soul Food in Chelsea.

he has a great blog --
ReplyDeleteI have tried to read his blog, but every time I do it seems that then when I try to connect to another blog the system hangs up and I have to completely quit the whole program, turn off the computer and my modem and start from scratch. What do you suppose gives with that? I am beginning to think God doesn't want me to read it!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I can't think why. There's nothing naughty in Bishop Alan's blog to trigger parental control. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Mimi, you are so smart!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I have a clue. There is a box in his sidebar that I believe is called Bookfinder and the loading indicator that I think of as a "wheel" keeps spinning trying to load that app?, which also causes the "wheel" in the address bar keep spinning. There's definitely something interfering with the load function of his blog. I just will have to be satisfied with not seeing it. It all happened again just now. It makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteSusan - if you put it on a feed - you can read it without going to the site. Click the little RSS box in the browser bar - have it delivered to your mail.
ReplyDeleteme like Bishop Alan's blog too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann, but it never stops loading so the little RSS box never shows up. It was worth a try, but it just isn't gonna work.
ReplyDeleteSusan - have your tried clearing your cache and deleting the cookies -- sometimes a browser keeps going back to a bug
ReplyDeleteSusan, seriously, if I had a clue as to what to suggest, I'd try to help.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. My PC doesn't shut down, but his blog is the one that takes absolute ages to load and it freezes the rest of the PC while it's doing it.
And that happens regardless of which browser I use.
I have no solution but I sympathise.
I have not had this problem (on a Mac) but maybe someone can leave him a note on his blog about deleting some of the byte eaters off the site -- sounds like there are too many things running stuff like flash
