  1. A friend - whose three children were in Viet Nam, Italy and Brooklyn - said that it was strange to have all his children living in foreign countries!

  2. Daniel, does your friend live near you? If so, I understand why Brooklyn seems like a foreign country to him.

  3. Brooklyn is probably stranger than England to me, but I bet there are some places in England that would feel pretty strange!

  4. My friend grew up near Buffalo and now lives there, so his reaction is not unexpected. I have a niece who lives in Brooklyn and I like her neighborhood.

  5. I've only been to Brooklyn once, very briefly, because we crossed the river on the subway by accident. We got off at the first stop in Brooklyn and got back on the train to return to Manhattan. Our accident was serendipitous, because Tom liked the view from the subway, which, for those of you who don't know, is not sub crossing the river.
