Loved the pictures! Oddly enough, my feline companion doesn't mind his regularly scheduled baths (much) - unless, that is, if someone else draws the short straw and is the designated "cat bather". That's when the T-face and snarls come out, but no claws or teeth! He even tolerates the hairdryer, which is necessary as Himself is a long-hair.
In the US, Erika - especially, in my experience, in the South - fleas can be a big problem. Bathing can be the fastest, most efficient, beginning treatment. Get 'em before they get to everything that moves.

ReplyDeleteYear or so back I read a comment somewhere that the internet had destroyed the dignity & mystery of the cat. Is that ever true!
ReplyDeleteKit, my son has a cat who jumps in the shower with him. None of our many cats liked baths, but some resisted more fiercely than others.
ReplyDeleteLapin, sadly, you are correct.
These pictures actually wring my heart, but the last one is very funny too.
ReplyDeleteCathy, mine, too. They all appear so humiliated, except the last one who holds his/her own.
ReplyDeleteMy wonderful 18 year-old namesake recently took on the task of bathing her family's *SIX* cats.
ReplyDeleteWhat's most amazing to me, is after one left its mark(s) on her, it didn't deter her from bathing the rest!
[While I didn't witness the actual bathing, I did see a few of the kitteh's post-bath "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" looks.]
Six! Wow! I'd have to spread that task out over a period of days.
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone ever bathe a cat?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's the question...
ReplyDeleteErika, Göran, we've never bathed our cats regularly, but we have had to on some occasions, and it's usually not an easy or pleasant task.
ReplyDeleteMy girls bathe themselves. I cannot imagine having to give any one of them a bath. Of course, mine are strictly indoor kitties.

ReplyDeleteYes, it's the dratted fleas.
