SINCE GRANDPÈRE IS THE CHIEF COOK...

...I bought the sign for him in a shop in Scotland.

Yes, I know that the wallpaper is dreadfully outdated, as is the rest of the kitchen. I'm just not ready to bear with the turmoil that having the kitchen redone would involve. Sorry.

  1. I want that sign.

    Seriously.

Welcome back. Hope the trip was pleasant.

Like Grandpere, I am chief cook and bottle washer.

    So, seriously.

Rmj, Grandpère rather likes the sign, too, or I'd send it right to you.

Most times I wash the bottles - and the pots, too. I'm OK with doing my part, if my beloved cooks.

I had a great time in Scotland. It's a beautiful country, and much of the time, we were off the beaten tourist track and saw glory upon glory of God's creation.

And the food! Don't ever let anyone tell you that the food in Scotland is not good. The seafood is outstanding, and my standards are quite high.

  4. JCF, thank you! There is that, then. And both the sign and the wallpaper go with me, since I'm outdated, too.

  5. That was a fabulous shop, and now I can't even remember what it was called.

That's what hangin' out with Mimo drinking single malts will do to the brain, my friends. Oh yes.

  6. Cathy, I can't remember the name, either. Maybe I'll find the name in my receipts. The shop was in Portree, right?

    And the sign.

  8. It was in Portree, and I bought a fridge magnet that said: "I understand the concept of cooking and cleaning, just not how it applies to me."

  9. I've found the receipt. The shop was called Roma @ Home.

  11. Thanks for the kind words about my wallpaper. I've been told that it needs to go, but it's not going anywhere at the moment.

    Roma@Home. What a nice name.

Cathy, are you hitting the single malt bottle again?

Well maybe I am or maybe I ain't, but either way I feel it must be your fault.
