Half a country away, I was out walking today (along the American River in Sacramento) and saw the same thing.Rising, majestically.Te Deum Laudamus!
And with Jupiter nearby (though it was closer two nights ago).Leonids are also suppose to be present tonight but most likely to be seen in the early morning hours.
With Jupiter and huge Orion hanging in the clear sky, too, along with the gibbous moon, the cool evening was lovely for a walk.

I hope for no clouds, then, and that I will get up to see them. The spirit is willing....
I'm now wishing I was somewhere in the US so I could see the gibbous moon. The nights have been cold and overcast here in Blighty.
Cathy, the moon will be a little more gibbous tonight, more like the photo. I wish you could be here to see.
