Cathy, the expert whom I consulted says he thinks it's the real thing. The bid is up to £5.50, but it will likely go higher as the time for the auction to end nears.
... Of course I forgot all about it and someone else pipped me at the post.:-(
Ah well, I'm supposed to be being highly disciplined with my pennies anyway and I would not really have wanted to pay more than my high bid, plus there's no real way of telling if it's genuine, so, I guess that's for the best (she says philosophically).
I have to say that if there was reasonable proof that was genuine I would buy it.

ReplyDeleteRight, well I've bid on it, so we'll see what happens :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Cathy! How exciting! I'll watch, too.
ReplyDeleteSure Izzie wasn't there? She's been leaving lots of similar prints in the mud around here recently, which then harden at night.
ReplyDeleteActually I love the idea. I just might go look at it on line myself. And Mimi, I'm sure your blog will help up the ante.
Sure Izzie wasn't there?
ReplyDeleteAmelia, don't let Izzie hear you say that.
Cathy still has the high bid, but I expect activity will pick up as the deadline gets near.

Sorry you lost the tile fragment, Cathy. I wouldn't have paid above the winning bid either.
