I just heard:
Cathy went home to God this evening.
My heart is heavy...but I'm relieved she's free of pain.
Light eternal grant unto her O Lord...
May Cathy rest in peace and rise in glory.
May God give comfort, consolation, and the peace that passes understanding to all who love Cathy.
JCF, I too am sorry for your loss and have kept Cathy in my prayers. My silence on blogs denotes only time constraints, not lack of presence or lack of caring.
ReplyDeleteMay Cathy rest in the embrace of Godde and may you and all who loved her find consolation and peace.
JCF, I'm so, so sorry to hear it ... I kept her in my prayers too. I hope you are all right, as much as you can be.
ReplyDelete((((((((((((((JCF))))))))))))))
Thank you, all.
ReplyDeleteIn some ways, I feel the loss for all those who didn't get to know her (I have my comforting memories---and the lovely "greenstone" Maori fishhook-pendant she brought me from New Zealand. Ever the devoted Xenite, she just HAD to go visit Kiwiland where our Show-of-Shows was filmed!)
She was incredibly kind, and generous. There are some people who, even though you like them, are somewhat taxing to be around: Cathy wasn't like that. She was very easy to like. I'm a Tower of Ego (insecurity): Cathy knew who she was, and that was enough.
A mensch (menscherin): that was Cathy. I miss her.
[She also had a spot-on political analysis of the world, and I already miss that, too. I feel Wildly Ambivalent about the sitch in Libya, and I keep thinking "What would Cathy say about it?"]
I guess I'm saying I do want some prayers for my (bereaved) self, too [There's also the "she was barely older than me, and now I feel more MORTAL, too" factor to consider. Oy vey.]
I will pray for your bereaved self, too, JCF. I know it's hard. Cathy sounds like a lovely person.
ReplyDeleteCathy has been in my prayers for some time. I was sorry to hear of her passing. You, JCF, and everyone who held her dear will continue to be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteJCP, You are in my thoughts and prayers. May you continue to find peace and comfort in the good memories of Cathy.
