BISHOP ALAN WILSON ON THE PROTESTS AT ST PAUL'S CATHEDRAL

An excellent interview. Back to Jesus, where all of us who call ourselves Christians should surely be.

Alan Wilson is Bishop of Buckingham in England and blogs at (Surprise!) Bishop Alan's Blog.

  1. Good interview and good to be able to associate a "live" individual with AW's online postings.

  2. I'm sharing it on Facebook. The C of E isn't exactly covering itself with glory these days. I wish I could feel completely confident about the Episcopal Church. But then, I've always felt more confidence in Episcopalians to do the right thing than in our church as a whole.

  3. By St. George the man is sane, open, willing and free from the politics of Church...powerful, imagine not knowing and saying so...humility...send ++Rowan a memo!

  4. One of the reasons why I'm posting often about St Paul's is that I hope Episcopal churches take lessons from the missteps of the leadership at the cathedral and don't make the same mistakes here.

Mine is one voice, nevertheless, multiple individual voices form a chorus.

  5. I love it, the sign amongst the protestors:

    What would Judas do?

(ask ++Rowan Williams, he´ll spin a tale of mucked up wisdom for us in a week or twelve)

  6. Where's Rowan? Or as Wade says, 'Who's Rowan?'

  7. Rowan's in Italy, where maybe he's getting a tip or two from the bishop of Rome about corporate responsibility towards the poor (like the RC church's nose is clean where banking scandals are concerned).

  8. In the Gospel today, we heard Jesus' words about the scribes and Pharisees: Do as they say but not as they do. The words would apply to the pope's message on capitalism and justice, too.
