HAPPY SAINT NICHOLAS DAY!
Remember the follow the bouncing ball singalong shorts at the movies? Warning: If you say yes, you may give away your age. It's been a long, long time.
So. You have work to do. Sing along as you follow the bouncing ball.
Now if you'd like something a bit more serous about St Nicholas, check out the following:

I dutifully sang along feeling that the tune was attainable but not knowing the words... and much to my amazement (horror?!), Joel chimed right in --he knew every word!
ReplyDeleteTell Joel I knew the words, too. That's what I'm about, margaret, bringing people together...even if it's to sing a silly song. :-)
ReplyDelete--and we love you for that, June! mmmmmwwwwwaaa!
ReplyDeleteOh the days when the mighty Wurlitzer levitated from somewhere down in the orchestra pit at the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, AL. We had a sing-along, the Movie Tone News, various short subjects, previews, a cartoon and then the feature. All this was for a nominal fee that almost any family could afford and we did not have to mortgage the house for a bag of popcorn. Thank you for this jog to my childhood memories.
ReplyDeleteBooCat, for a quarter, we could see a movie and have a coke and either popcorn or a candy bar. The other evening, Tom and I went to the movies and spent $30. I've almost decided that I will wait for the DVD versions, although I still like the mystique of the dark movie theater with few distractions.
ReplyDeleteIf we hadn't wanted our munchies, we could have got by on $20. Senior discounts are a thing of the past.
