STORY OF THE DAY - NOTHING TO SAY

He really doesn't have that much to say,
she told me, so don't get him started.

  1. Having just come from another pointless round of argument at Baby Blue (I'm a creature of habit, I can't help myself. Clearly I need a twelve step program. No, seriously.), this resonates with me in ways I wouldn't have expected.

Surprising how many people there are on the intertubes without much to say, but don't get them started....

    "Facto" (the secret word) indeed.

  2. Tobias, spot on.

Rmj, I predict a rather long post coming at Adventus. Or did you spend yourself at Baby Blue's place?

  3. Something I'd already written about: my critique of OWS as a movement. Or rather, my distinction between "protests" (which I define as prompted by events) and a "movement" (which I define as an effort to change culture/opinion/even law at a radical, or root, level).

I want to see OWS become the latter, but my distinction upset the narrative in the heads of many. Nobody ever engaged the argument, they just engaged the story they have.

I really should know better by now.....

  4. Rmj, I'd like to see OWS become a movement, too, but could it be that all movements start with protests? The protests either become a movement, or they peter out.

  5. I've had a framed print with this inscription for quite a few years. Love it.
