London diocesan synod voted on the Anglican Covenant motion this evening.Summary from Not the Same Stream:
The motion in favour of the covenant was lost, being defeated in both the houses of laity and clergy.
Bishops: 2 for / 1 against / 0 abstentions
Clergy: 17 for / 32 against / 1 abstention
Laity: 26 for / 33 against / 2 abstentions

ReplyDeleteJim, exactly, and when the members are advised to READ THE TEXT (which the proponents seldom do), they see it for what it is.
ReplyDeleteI think it interesting that the delegates continue, in any diocese where they have access to both sides of the discussion to choose the "no" vote. This is not about beating any particular person, it is about voting for synodical polity, and the simple fact that the voters see the truth.
