A friend of mine sent me a link to this a couple of days ago and I chuckled. I also wrote back that Izzie, at times, is like this cat, but she does wiggle her butt and wag her tail when I'm with her so she is not nearly as "bored" by people as Henri.
Amelia, I think only a feline could suffer this kind of ennui.
Alas, we now see Diana wandering around sort of aimlessly, looking bored and confused. We know she is quite deaf and sees poorly out of her one eye, but we wonder if her mind is affected, too.
I have made arrangements to put Izzie down on Friday. I keep second-guessing myself, but I think it is time. If she cannot smell me she starts to bark. I am working on her "obit"
Amelia, I'm so sorry. I know you will miss Izzie terribly.
Diana does the aimless barking, too, when she's not sleeping or when one of us is not right nearby. She's still strong in body after she gets up and gets the creaks out. She runs and leaps like a puppy when Tom chases her and plays with her.
Izzie refuses to play at all. She is likely to try to bite. The only thing she still enjoys is a tummy rub. And I will miss her terribly. And it is Thursday, not Friday. Sometimes I think I am not right in my mind, but this really has been weighing on me since our trip out west and back.
Thanks for sharing the clip. I've share it on Facebook for my cat-loving friends. My cat also lives such a life of tedium. When I pass him in the hallway, I always say, "Poor Kitty" with a sigh.

DeleteOh Amelia, my heart goes out to you. It does sound as though it's time. Poor Izzie. She was such a sweetie when she was here. I'll pray for you both.

ReplyDeleteAnd well you should. He deserves at least that from you, KJ.
