Loving God, you call us to do justice and love kindness: we thank you for the witness of Walter Rauschenbusch, reformer of society; and we pray that, following his example of faithfulness to the Gospel, we may be ever mindful of the suffering of those who are poor and work diligently for the reform of our communities; through Jesus Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Hey, Gram, I'm confused. I was fascinated by his look and started to pull up more info and what I was reading suggested he was a Baptist minister. Am I missing something? Aren't congregationalists and baptists different? Help...
ReplyDeleteRenz, I took the biographical information from 'The Daily Office', but all the other sources list Rauschenbusch as a Baptist. I'll change my caption. Congregationalists and Baptists are not the same Thanks.
