MITT'S MAMA GIVES AWAY THE GAME
I was gonna post a music video, but...
Lenore Romney really believes in George Romney.
"He was a refugee from Mexico. He was on relief - welfare relief - for the first years of his life. But this great country gave him opportunities."
I don't know about you, but it seems to me the son of George and Lenore Romney, Mitt Romney, wants to deny people the kind of opportunity this country gave to his own father when he came to the US from Mexico.
NPR has further information on the Romney family and their travels back and forth between the US and Mexico.
Andrew Kaczynski at BuzzFeed posted the video on YouTube.

So sad that they failed to teach him an ounce of humility with which to temper his ambition,
ReplyDeleteand apparently did not see his need to best or avenge or surpass his father's achievements that seems his only reason for running now ... not the genuine desire to serve his country or pass on his parents' compassion ... sad.
The apple fell far from the tree, didn't it?
DeleteMexican immigrant on welfare. Who'd a thought? Many times the man his son is, it seems, but we ended up with Richard Milhous, didn't we? The only explanation I can see for Mitt's ambition to be president is that his father failed to reach that office. From which, apparently, he learned never to offend the Republican right.
ReplyDeleteNow we know Obama and Romney have something in common. Both had a parent on welfare.
DeleteThat's about right. Mitt thinks should be president because he's entitled to the job, because his dad, who was a better man, didn't quite make it. Talk about entitlements!
You know, I don't know what to believe. Not only did Mitt have good parents, he was nurtured by the Mormon faith, which absolutely does not teach the stuff that's coming out of his mouth. I fear that Mitt is so focused and intent on "winning" (buying) the Presidency, he's lost his soul. It's really very tragic to watch.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, Mitt is a puzzle. I believe he truly thinks he is entitled to be president. Either he wants the job so much that he is blinded to the obvious in many cases, or he is missing something in his personality or character that would help him relate to ordinary events and people. His rude comments about the Olympics when he visited England showed a lack of simple courtesy to the host country that is astonishing. As I've said before, Romney makes W look like a genius. Maybe it's Romney's soul that's missing. I doubt that even he knows what he believes in now, if he ever did.
DeleteOh ho, ho, ho - Mama's remarks are priceless. And yes, Mitt thinks he's as entitled as any Bourbon king ever did. He has never been anything but a pampered rich kid, too stuck-up and snotty to feel anything for anyone but himself. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteI gather the film was an infomercial for George Romney's campaign for governor. To think that back then it was respectable for Republicans to mention that they needed a helping hand from the government shows how far the party has moved since 1963.
