Hmmm,,, I crochet and I am a straight guy. In fact I am very good at it, and I tapestry crochet.
In the high Andes where tapestry is a major tradition, there has been cultural turmoil as men teach their wives the traditional art and patterns. This because the men see (correctly) a market for the beautiful things they crochet among tourists and having their wives work with them allows them to have more stock to sell. I doubt most of those husbands are gay.
I do have friends who crochet. At least one of them is gay, I know his husband. There may be others.

Tell it to Mo, Jim. ;-)
DeleteTo follow on from Jim's comment, I don't like to crochet, and I am a girl. Just thought I'd say. I hope Mo is listening somewhere out there :)
ReplyDeleteI once crocheted, but only for a short while, which means I must not have enjoyed it all that much. Are you listening, Mo?
