I'm Scissors!

Since I've been quite serious lately, it's time for a little nonsense. Missy did it so I'm doing it too, although this is something I should probably keep to myself.

You Are Scissors

Sharp and brilliant, you can solve almost any problem with that big brain of yours.
People fear your cutting comments - and your wit is famous for being both funny and cruel.
Deep down, you tend to be in the middle of an emotional storm. Your own complexity disturbs you.
You are too smart for your own good. Slow down a little - or you're likely to hurt yourself.

You can cut a paper person down to pieces.

The only person who can ruin you is a rock person.

When you fight: You find your enemy's weak point and exploit it.

If someone makes you mad: You'll do everything you can to destroy their life.

Hey! That's not really me, is it? Well, parts of it maybe, like the sharp, brilliant, and smart. But I would never, ever destroy anyone's life.

Is my wit cruel? Do people fear my cutting comments? I hope not. I try to follow what Elizabeth Bennett said in Pride and Prejudice, "I hope that I never ridicule what is wise or good. Follies and nonsense, whims and inconsistencies do divert me, I own, and I laugh at them whenever I can."

Do I tend to be in the midst of an emotional storm? Well, yes. But that's life throwing lemons at me, and it's not my fault. Does my own complexity disturb me? No, I think not, because I don't see myself as all that complex.

So. Who is the rock person out there who will ruin me?

  1. Alas, Mimi, I had hoped to be able to offer you my assistance, but the results indicate a different direction. Let me say paper people had best be careful around us.

Scissors are in the shape of an X; perhaps The Madster had an intuition, but it was a trifle garbled in transmission?

  2. Johnieb, you can't be my rock protector, then.

Will some gallant rock step up?

Yes, MP tends to get things a little mixed up sometimes.

Note to readers: when you don't fine x-rated material here, don't get angry with me. Go sound off here.

  3. Oddly, I ended up scissors, also, and I don't feel like I have the wit you have, Mimi dear. I never feel quick enough to have a cutting remark--maybe days later! Silly, diverting, and interesting quiz.

  4. I'm scissors as well but I'd rather keep that rather wonderful image of Frasier Crane gleefully racing around the bar at Cheers, saying "I'm running with scissors, I'm running with scissors!"

  5. Grandmère, the test tells me I am paper. Oooo, I better watch out around you, n’est-ce pas? I am creative, but actually, I feel I am pretty straightforward, very WYSIWYG, and not manipulative in the least. I have never observed you cutting into anyone that didn't richly deserve it. So much for pop-psychology.

  6. Let's see. Two scissors, one paper, and one rocker. Rocker? Sorry, Padre Mickey, has-been Rocker don't count.

Boocat, I think you'll find that the scissors people around here won't be mean to you.

For some of the questions, I wanted to say, "None of the above," so I wouldn't put too much stock in the pop-psych quiz.

  7. I'm a scissor, too.

I'm sharp, and witty, and scary.

And complex, and ready to take on rocks...

  9. I think the thing is rigged! There are far too many scissors here. Even I am scissors, and I've never said a sharp thing in my life! That's sharp as in very clever. I am however somewhat a b-tch...maybe that's the sharpness they are talking about?

  10. C'mon, Susan, we all know you're a sweetie.

Do you really think it's rigged?

  11. Prolley not...it was just the cleverest thing I could come up with....see, I told you I wasn't sharp!
