From the AP via Talking Points Memo:
Sen. Barack Obama won primaries in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia with ease Tuesday night in a determined drive to erase Hillary Rodham Clinton's delegate lead in the Democratic presidential race.
"Tonight we're on our way," he told cheering supporters in Madison, Wis. "But we know how much further we have to go on," Obama added, as he celebrated eight straight victories over Clinton, the former first lady now struggling in a race she once commanded.
And two more Clinton staff members have been fired.
Can we now say Obama has momentum? Wait. There are those who say that it's really about Texas and Ohio. We shall see. I think it's great that we have a contest going here. It's exciting.
Oh yes. McCain took all three states, too.
Very exciting indeed, Grandmère.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, I am already dreading the "swiftboating" by the Republicans of whoever is the Democratic candidate.
ReplyDeleteHow they managed to convince so many that Kerry, who had actually served in Vietnam, was more of a wimp than W, who went AWOL from the Air National Guard, is still beyond belief. But they did it.
¡Si, se puede!
ReplyDeleteOrmonde, thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteYes, we can!
I'm lovin' my Obama '08 bumper sticker, and am doubly grateful that Huckabee didn't win any more states. I suppose McCain is the lesser of two evils, but I worry about a McCain presidency almost as much as I do Dubya's.
ReplyDeleteNo republican can possibly win, least of all McCain. I hope McCain does get the nomination because he should be so easy to beat. He's just not likable. I mean, I don't like him.
ReplyDeleteI saw my first campaign commercial on the early news this morning. It was Obama telling me that in order to fix health care we had to fix Washington. I agree with that. i just don't know if he will be able to do it. I am still leaning Clinton and lamenting Kucinich.
If Scout, or Diana, or Grendel the misanthropic dog would run I'd probably vote for them.
