Uh-uh-uh Uh Uh! Uh-uh-uh Uh Uh!

  1. Perhaps the woodpecker had one Sazerac too many? There is one at every party, you know.

  2. Ha!

Speaking of animals, my son just did a three-sentence book report on komodo dragons. They have deadly bacteria in their mouths (the better for causing foul-smelling wounds in their prey, who are then easier to track down should they escape.) They mix their saliva with their own blood to aid digestion, and there is absolutely no animal, dead or alive, that they won't eat.

I certainly hope Noah gave them a private cabin. I'd take my chances with the woodpecker. :)

  3. Jim, more like a woodpecker on speed, I'd say.

PJ, I did not know that about the komodo dragon. That's good info to have in case I meet up with one. I'll know to run like hell. Sounds like a nasty critter. They would need their own cabin.

  4. Sometimes I feel like I'm trapped on the boat and its going to sink.
Other times I feel like Noah, wanting to protect those in my charge.
And there are even times when I know I am the woodpecker, doing what I'm supposed to, but not in the best way.
I'm not sure you intended it that way, but I thank you for it.
    :)

  5. Roland, however you want to take it. It's a cartoon with multi-layers of meaning.

    Fran, thanks.

    DP, if you say so.

  7. Maybe Clumber could stick a mitre on the bird and pee-off what's-her-name one more time. Woodpecker Davidson and the TEC ark?

  8. Well, Lapin, I guess all the good stuff will to your own site from now on. I'll miss my stringer. I'll have a look over there.

  9. Mimi, if you had even an inkling of how indolent I am you would have no worries about the continuing flow of suggestions!

  10. Mimi -- A great thing about this picture is that I came upon it yesterday just as my non-patient husband was standing outside with a gun loaded with birdshot trying to "get" a nutsy woodpecker trying to poke through our roof: and it's a metal roof -- very noisy, indeed. Good news is that he decided to let the bird be.

SusanKay, that is good news. But I can imagine that the sound of a woodpecker pecking on a tin roof must not be the most pleasant sound in the world.
