Friday Words From Maxine

And another.

Same source as below. It's silly Friday so far.

  1. Mimi -

I went to college with a woman of Italian descent who loved to cook - but the results were not the best. People often wonder how she coped with these conflicting stereotypes. Well, she married an Englishman. True story.

  2. As for the lingere comment, the same is true of nude beaches. Most of the people you see in such places are a great argument for clothes

As for the second, the quickest surest way to skewer Madpriest is to diss Yorkshire pudding. And if you think people get worked up over BBQ, just wait 'til you see that torrent of wounded national pride.

  3. Lynn, welcome. The perfect solution. Some of the worst food I have ever had was in England. We learned pretty quickly to look for ethnic restaurants. I suppose there are Italians who can't cook good food, but I have never met one.

Counterlight, you are so right. I've never been to a nude beach, only to topless beaches, but what I saw there was amazing.

So shall I go right over to OCICBW and stir something up on a dull, gloomy Friday? That's what the weather is like here, anyway.

  4. Greetings from Tallinn.

Those cartoons are charming and my Estonian host enjoyed them too.

  5. I love that second one. Can I go to Paris instead?

I always lose weight in Paris. Seriously. It's from walking so much.

Though that's not why I want to go shopping there. (I also need money to do so, but I'll take up a donation ;-))

  6. DP, hello! Why does it seem more of a miracle of the intertubes to read a comment from you from Estonia than from Merrie Olde England? Only 8 days left to put something together for your blog. Oh dear! I'm beginning to panic already.

Jane, shall we start a donation fund for you to shop in Paris?
