From The Huffington Post:
In a potentially ominous sign for the presumptive Democratic nominee, a new poll shows Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) trailing far behind G.O.P. standard bearer Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) among voters who identify themselves as racists.
....
The poll, conducted by Duh Magazine, suggests that Mr. Obama faces an uphill battle in his effort to win the votes of dyed-in-the-wool bigots.
"We wanted to know, why isn't Barack Obama closing the deal among racists?" said Charles Plugh, editor-in-chief of Duh. "The answer seems to be, because he's black."
Blame Doug for the link.
Well I suspect McCain feels right at home. I've heard rumors that a racist joke is far from being above him. Sexist, too for that matter. A pox on his 10 houses!
ReplyDeleteMcCain is favored at 99% in the poll. I should have worked that into the post.
ReplyDeleteWell, I know that my brother will be voting for McCain for no other reason than to keep the White House white. McCain's way too liberal for him.
ReplyDeleteCounterlight, ain't it awful when our own relatives cancel our vote?
ReplyDeleteAlas, this sounds waaaay too much like the traditional media in their approach to describing election politics. It's a wonder we're not totally brain dead by now. (Or are we?)
ReplyDeleteThanks to you and Doug for this good chuckle (sigh, and almost tear).
Paul, I am having a brain dead day plus a cranky day - a lethal combination. People are sometimes so fecking stupid. As I said in the comments to another blog, sometimes I long to be a hermit. If I couldn't have a good laugh or two a day, I don't know if I would make it.
ReplyDeleteOh but this is better!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I'm watching the videos from the Saddleback Church forum. I'd rather be laughing. I think I'll take a break and go read The Onion.
