As The Crowd "Warms Up"

From the Scranton Times-Tribune:

1:25 p.m.

Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin.

Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama the crowd booed loudly.

One man screamed "kill him!"

Supporters have been noted shouting “kill him,” “terrorist,” “off with his head” and other equally incendiary terms about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. Others have directly suggested Mr. Obama is a Muslim, which he is not, or a traitor. Some comments even drew rebuke from Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

Other than the lone man, there were no other such outbursts.

Only one lone man? How long will this go on? Where are the authorities? Isn't this somewhat like shouting, "Fire!" in a theater? When will Palin/McCain speak out about this? I'm waiting. I'm waiting.

H/T to TPM.

  2. Olbermann used the fire-in-the-theater analogy on Countdown last night, but, remember! I had it first. Their campaign tactics are beyond despicable.

  3. I'm afraid you'll keep waiting. McCain has sold his soul* to the idea of being President and won't risk alienating "the base" by calling them on their bad behavior.

*(I doubt Palin ever had that sort of "soul" and probably agrees with the nutcases at her rallies anyway...)

  4. I thought John would wet himself in his eagerness last night to get to Ayres. He managed of course to make it all about himself, and the slights he had at the hands of lewis, which of course have little to do with Obama. As he was warned the public simply hated it, and he tanked following that question. This is a campaign in utter chaos.

  5. McCain's campaign is floundering. There is no strategy, only tactics, apparently planned by dolts. They try this nasty campaign tactic, and the next nasty campaign tactic, and they all backfire. They don't appear to learn from their mistakes.
