  1. Palin's as plain as a pike staff. Have you noticed how many people look like her? And stick a pair of spectacles on others and there are even more. She's very very ordinary.

Obama is exceptionally striking, with or without the wig. None is pretty.

  2. Another art world in joke; a spoof on Warhol's Marylin, and on celebrity portraiture.

    yawn

  3. Steph, I think she's plain, too. I don't understand the folks who think she's a beauty.

Obama is one cool dude and quite appealing - at least to me. He seems comfortable with himself.

  4. Counterlight, you don't like it, huh?

  5. Well, just editorially, it's a great political comment, don'tcha think? This is what it boils down to for way too many undecided voters. I'm just glad Obama wins this one, too.

    :)

  6. Yes, CL, it is a joke. We all knew that, didn't we?

  7. Scott, yeah. If it's a beauty contest, Obama wins.

I thought the debate was pretty boring. I doubt that it will change many minds. McCain's mugging doesn't do him credit. Schieffer never seemed to give Obama the last word. John McCain is a ass. Ok, I said it. I've been wanting to. I'll say it again. John McCain is a ass.

  8. Odd how natural it looks on Biden and McCain.

    Agree with CL.

  9. Well if a Canadian vote is allowed, I vote for the lady in red, about half way down this page, with Paul Newman a second tie!

At to the others, blonde or brunette, IMHO Sarah Whatshername gives drag queens a bad name.

  10. David, any thoughts on the outcome of your election? I'm sure you have one or two.

  11. Chere Grandmere, gracious of you to ask.

    I was deeply disappointed...
-that no one really made much of an issue of the illegality of the election itself; called by a man who had imposed a law about the frquency of elections and then he broke that law himself
    - that people didn't 'get' the prophetic environmental sustainability/accountability message of one of the leaders, instead turning too much of the discussion into a snicker campaign about his hearing handicap and accent.

i am however amazed at the richness of gifts three of the four leaders bring to our parliament. we are deeply, truly blessed as a country.

as a person of faith i am not discouraged however, as I believe it is in 'process' that the Holy Spirit is most readily engaged, and have they got a process ahead of them!

another minority government- but with the election out of the way here, you can be sure my prayer priorities will be for your upcomig election.

after the photo on FranIam's blog this morning i seriously wonder how anyone can take Mc Cain seriously, but for his ability to play into peoples' fear.

    Merci encore, chere Grandmere

  12. David, I thought you might not be pleased. What? A leader of the government who breaks the law? Wait. That sounds familiar. FISA? Guantanamo detainees and show trials? Torture? I could go on.

Nous avons besoin de vos prières, cher David. Merci.
