Speaking of doctors, please pray for my brother Keith and his wife, Barbara. Keith fell and broke his hip today - the same day that Barbara found out she has rectal cancer. They're operating on Keith tomorrow, but don't know about Barbara yet.
Oh dear, BillyD! That's hard. Both in the same day! Prayers for healing, comfort, and strength through the difficult days ahead.
UPDATE: BillyD has left a new comment on your post "Please Pray For Keith And Barbara":
Thanks for the prayers. Keith's surgery is scheduled for five o'clock Mountain Time this evening, and is expected to last about four hours. They're putting some sort of rod into his femur.
Very hard, very confusing and painful...prayers ascending for comfort, comforting and peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteI´m so sorry about this dose of double troubles.
Hmmm, Prayers,..so soothing, I suppose!!
ReplyDeleteHuman contact is better.
Faithful Human contact is so much more important!!
... It's call Fellowship in the Evangelical Cults.
Thank you, Leonardo.
ReplyDeleteDavid, human contact might be superior, but I definitely do not want all the readers of this blog dropping by Keith and Barbara's hospital rooms.
Prayers!

ReplyDeleteOh my. Saying a prayer.
ReplyDeletePrayers ascending!
ReplyDelete(I believe you said, BillyD, that your brother's broken bones may be related to liver disease? So much like my friend/priest's wife, Sue: also ailing under similar conditions :-( )
It's going to be SO important, that your sister-in-law receive respite (from someone/somewhere!) in taking care of your brother, so she can fight her own illness... Lord have mercy!
Thanks for the prayers and support, folks. Keith's surgery went "admirably" according to reports. He'll be in the hospital a few more days, then in rehab for a couple of weeks, and it will be a couple of months before he can put weight on it. Now the challenge is to get Barbara taken care of.
ReplyDeleteJCF, I don't know if the broken bones are related to Keith's liver problems (I didn't know that was a possibility). I do know that it was a challenge finding a suitable anesthesia for use during surgery, and that either the liver disease or the meds he's on are messing up his blood clotting time.
Prayers coming from California.
