Inauguration Pictures

Ann sent me a link to an amazing set of pictures of the inauguration of President Obama from the Boston Globe. President Obama. I love the sound and look of that. I'll type it again. President Obama.


The picture above is my favorite. Schadenfreude? I don't think so. It's a picture rich with significance on many levels.

The pictures show people from the US and from all around the world watching the inauguration.

    I found that particular picture moving on several levels. The government agency where I work took W's picture down from the lobby wall that afternoon but Obama's is still not up.

    These all made me cry all over again. The one from Afghanistan and the one of them dancing were my faves.

    Truthfully, when I first looked at this picture here, I was a little creeped out: I saw the words "Guantanamo Bay", and thought some wingnut was indicating Our Prez belonged there! :-0

    [It's easier to elect/swear-in a new (black) Democratic (and democratic) President, than get past 8 years of paranoia, apparently... ;-/]
