  1. But I didn't think you WERE shrill.

And I think Barney Frank deserves a medal.

  2. Doxy, thanks. I may not be there yet, but I'm trying.

    Corstarr, welcome. I agree.

  3. Try as you may, Mimi, I don't think you have the gift. ;-)

    Frank is so kewl.

  4. Hi Johnieb, how ya doing? Grandpère might disagree that I don't have the gift.

Frank is kewl. He don't mince words.

  5. As I said a couple of other places, I love Barney Frank. We're both left handed!!!

  6. "Dining room table" about sums it up for me.

  7. I do not find you shrill Mimi!

In any event, we are in the deep end of the propaganda pool whenever that crap comes up and it is very scary indeed.

Facts have so little meaning - another thing we have to thank GWB and Co. for.

  8. Heck, that was rather average for Barney (although brilliant). He can get a lot more animated that that.

I've always love a good Barney Frank rant.

  9. Susan, you're a girl.

And the woman looks almost normal. That's the scary part.

Health care = Hitler. I guess it's the death panels that will kill your grandmother. Hey! I'm the grandmother! Maybe I should worry.

Fran, I wish I could be shriller.

When Barney's Republican colleagues were marching forward to impeach Clinton, he asked them not to do it, that the process would be about "who touched what when". He was right.

  10. Mimi, you're not shrill, that woman from some other planet was shrill. I love Barney Frank. He's very clear about where he stands.

  11. Where is the Liberal rebuttal here!!! I am frustrated in the shouters, but I am more frustrated with the silence that is suppose to be our response.

  12. Ciss, I think Barney did well. Ridicule may be the best response. The politicians pay attention to those who make the noise. I'll wager that they're getting calls, letters and emails, too. But the crazies get the attention.

The media want conflict, so they cover the town hall meetings where is likely to be a scene far more than their numbers would warrant.

  13. His was the only appropriate response.

Lewis Black said, regarding the bizarre White House assertions that Bush actually did something to prevent the Katrina tragedy, that ". . at some point we just have to agree what the f**k reality is."

You can't treat crazy people as if they are behaving sanely - if for no other reason than the general herd mentality means that the insanity will be perceived as sane.

  14. Actually, I don't find the Senator's answer shrill at all.

    More sad and very calm.
