Whoa! Do I have a busy day ahead of me! I made it through all the security points with an expired drivers license. My first priority is to get a valid drivers license.
Also, I ask your prayers because tomorrow morning, I have an appointment with an optometrist at Ochsner Medical Center to start the process for having cataract surgery. What can I say? I'm scared. I know, I know. It's a simple surgery, and I will be much better off afterward, blah, blah, blah, but nevertheless....
UPDATE: Perhaps I was not clear. My surgery is not tomorrow. The visit tomorrow is to get the ball rolling to set a date for surgery. I am frightened way ahead of time.
Praying for you, but you will be fine.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be in my prayers, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteBy they way, it's strange to say, "Welcome back!" but you know what I mean... ;-)
Counterlight, thanks, luv.
ReplyDeleteTobias, thank you, too, and I do know what you mean. It's a crazy, mixed-up world we live in when our friends welcome us back when we leave them.
I'd be scared too - prayers and a big virtual hug.
ReplyDeleteYou know you will be held in great golden cloud of prayers and love.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I missed you.
It's OK to be a little bit scared. We all love you and are praying for you. Try not to worry.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying too, but know all will be well.

ReplyDeleteAny surgery can be frightening! Prayers here for you as well.
ReplyDeleteI will add my prayers. When I had my cataract surgery I was afraid too. It is actually as easy and as positive as they tell you. But the fear is also perfectly reasonable.

Thanks all for the prayers and encouraging words. Believe me, it helps to know that others hold me in their prayers and thoughts. I've had a good many surgical procedures in my lifetime, and I'm usually not especially frightened, but eye surgery makes me squeamish. Howevah! I'll get by with a little help from my friends.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned earlier, I noticed on the plane coming home that my drivers license had expired last month on my birthday. I went to get a new license today, and I had a moment of panic. When I saw my optometrist, I needed a change in prescription for my left eye (not the eye with the cataract problem), but the change was not great, so we decided to wait until after the cataract surgery to make the change. On the way to get the license, I thought about that, and I was concerned that I wouldn't pass the eye test. It was tricky in the left eye, but I was barely able to barely make out the letters, so the drivers license is now in order. Yay!
Welcome back Mimi and I am glad you are still allowed to drive. Prayers for the cataract surgery.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you in this process that must be gone thru. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteI love you Mimi and I am glad you had that wonderful time in NuYawk and Connecticut.
A slightly amended version of the one I deleted.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you passed your vision test, but could you pass a urine test? :~)
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed you when you were in NJ this past w/e.
Where are the snaps????? I specifically ordered one of you kissing a woman.
Mimi, I echo Tobias's comments. It's good that you are home again! It was lovely seeing you and I'm glad your driver's license is in order.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your surgury. It is understandable that you would be a bit nervous about it, but I'm sure the doctor is quite competant and that all will go well.
Prayers ascending!
I added an update stating that the surgery is not tomorrow. The visit tomorrow is preliminary to set a date for the surgery later. Sorry if I was not clear about that.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I would certainly pass the urine test. After all, I'm an upstanding Christian woman.
Allie, that pie! Out of this world! Elizabeth, you don't know what you missed, but I know that you were doing the Lord's work.
I love all y'all.
This surgeon will be the one in whom you have more confidence than the one you were to have seen earlier summer? Glad you waited.
ReplyDeleteGood to have you back. Hope all goes well at the optometrists - I'm sure you'll have a lot of people 'holding your hand' as they think of you.
